The revision
history describes all changes to the GoLogic™ software for the past year. We provide this
information so that our customers know what to expect before
updating...
Version 5.09 -
February 18, 2008
New features...
- A new "Mictor" editing option was added to
the Channel Group tab. The new editor displays a top-down pinout
view of the female Mictor connector on your device. Channel groups
can be
edited by clicking
on the Mictor
connector pins.
This feature makes our Mictor adapter cables even easier to use.
Bug repairs...
- The TriggerForm list box was updated
incorrectly when
serial bus sampling modes were active. For example, selecting the
I2C TriggerForm in the list would display the correct TriggerForm
but the list box was itself blank.
Version 5.08 -
January 31, 2008
New features...
- A new editing option was added to
the Channel Group tab. Channel groups can now be edited using the
older "pod" view or the new "spreadsheet" mode. Both display
options accomplish the same task, but each edit mode has certain
advantages.
- Old 4.3x trace data files can now be
imported directly to the "Reference" data area using the
"File > Import > TRC file" menu command.
-
A new step was added to the ScopeLink
wizard so that scopes can trigger on either their AUX/EXT input or
any normal scope channel. This allows the scopes lacking an AUX/EXT
input (or have a malfunctioning AUX/EXT input) to work properly with
ScopeLink.
-
The threshold dialog box was improved.
Bug repairs...
- The WaveForm window marker snap
feature was
disabled when using Repeat Capture mode.
-
Improved behavior when the GoLogic is
disconnected while the software is open.
Version 5.07 -
December 13, 200 7
New features...
- A "digitally signed" 32-bit GoLogic
device driver was released. Except for the digital signature, this
driver is identical to the "2.1" version which you probably use now.
Therefore, you don't need to update to this new driver unless you
prefer using signed drivers.
- A
"digitally signed" 64-bit GoLogic device driver was added to support
the XP x64 and Vista x64 platforms.
- Generic
"bitstream" serial bus support was added.
A new "bitstream timing" sample mode is now available, a new "bitstream conversion" option is
available in the WaveForm window, a new Bitstream Display Plug-In
was created, and special bitstream SearchForms and FilterForms were added.-
The personal "My GoLogic" folder can now
be renamed using the "Options > System Options" menu command.
Version 5.06 -
November 26, 2007
New features...
- LIN bus support was added.
A new "LIN timing" sample mode is now available, a new "LIN conversion" option is
available in the WaveForm window, a new LIN Display Plug-In was
created, and special LIN SearchForms and FilterForms were added.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected an error
when the "Series" TriggerForm ended in a pattern which was all
"don't cares".
- The
trigger sample is now placed at the end of the trigger-sequence
when the "Complex"
TriggerForm is
used. The software search algorithm which occurs after download placed the trigger at
the start of complex trigger-sequences and caused confusion in some
cases. In
contrast, the SearchForm still scrolls to the start sample of the
search-
sequence.-
Corrected an error in the SearchForms when a counter is used.
-
Changing a serial bus type in the Sampling tab's
serial
bus editor now automatically changes the channel groups and
WaveForm window display.
Version 5.05 -
October 23, 2007
New features...
- The new serial
bus editor located in the Sampling tab makes capturing
and displaying serial data much easier. Up to 32 serial buses can be defined and
captured together. The editor automatically adds new channels groups
and WaveForm window lines for each serial bus.
-
Support for Agilent's new 5000, 6000,
and 8000 series DSO's was added to ScopeLink.
-
Non-printing ASCII characters are now
displayed as hexadecimal values.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected a slight variance in the simple state mode's trigger
position between traces.
- Corrected several cosmetic errors in
the TriggerForms.
- Re-directing the "My Documents"
folder to a network drive caused errors when that drive was missing.
Therefore,
the "My
Documents\My
GoLogic\GoLogicSupport" folder was eliminated. The previous project
is now stored in a better location
for each user account. After installing 5.05, you can manually load
the 5.04 or earlier
"My
Documents\My
GoLogic\GoLogicSupport\Previous.prj" project file to restore you
last active project. Once 5.05 exits, you can delete the "My
GoLogic\GoLogicSupport" if desired.
Version 5.04 -
September 6, 2007
New features...
- CAN bus support was added.
A new "CAN timing" sample mode is now available, a new "CAN conversion" option is
available in the WaveForm window, a new CAN Display Plug-In was
created, and special CAN SearchForms and FilterForms were added.-
Saving and loading project files are now faster.
-
The "Edit > All thresholds..." menu command was added.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected an error
which caused version 5.03 to ignore USB 1.1 host ports.
- Corrected an error in the auto-save
feature's filename edit box.
Version 5.03 -
July 27, 2007
Bug repairs...
- Eliminated a minor memory leak in
the RS-232 serial bus display.
- Revised the RS-232 conversion to work better when several buses are captured at the same
time.
Version 5.02 -
July 13, 2007
New features...
- The serial
bus display now operates on trace data captured using any
variation of transitional timing mode. Previously, I2C data had
to be captured using "I2C Timing" mode, SPI had to use "SPI
Timing" mode, and so forth. This change allows different buses to be analyzed together in one trace capture.
For example, "I2C Timing" mode can be used to trigger on
an I2C bus while spare channels also capture an SPI or RS-232 bus.
All buses can be displayed at the same time.
- Program behavior was improved when
the serial bus display is configured
after trace data is captured. It's
still best to configure the serial bus display before taking
a trace, but the serial display can now be configured after trace is
captured.
Version 5.01 -
July 2, 2007
New GoLogic software interface replacing
version 4.34 and earlier.
New features include...
- Support for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista (32-bit
platform only; XP-64 and Vista-64 coming soon)
- Separate setup and trace files were
replaced by unified and compressed project files
- All user data is now saved to "My
Documents\My GoLogic" so separate user accounts work better
- Improved TriggerForms
- Improved drag-n-drop operations in
all windows
- Improved Plug-In Manager
- Better Plug-In
programming interface: simpler and allows setup dialog boxes
- Serial bus conversion directly in
WaveForm window
- Improved setup for I2C, SPI, and
RS-232 analysis
- Improved search and filter features
including search on I2C, SPI, and RS-232
- On-line HTML help which incorporates
video tutorials
- Symbol table setup simplified by
loading them into the channel groups
- Support for text "binary mask"
symbol files and associating colors with symbols
- ScopeLink wizard configures
oscilloscopes for use with the GoLogic
- Channel groups now support 64-bit
groups
- Improved color selection for channel
groups and trace display
- Simplified menus
- Dual Numeric windows
- Unique setup for each WaveForm and
Numeric window
- Improved printer setup
- Improved Software Development Kit. All features the NCI
software supports such as I2C and SPI trigger, controlling several GoLogic
units, and remote network access are now possible for SDK
programmers.
