The revision
history describes all changes to the GoLogic™ software for the past year. We provide this
information so that our customers know what to expect before
updating...
Version
5.31 - January 20, 2012
New features...
- Demo channels option added to
simulate 36 and 72 channel models.
- Added "Show sample-position dots" to the
WaveForm window options. When capturing Normal Timing or State Analysis data (ie -
no timestamps), dots can be painted beneath each waveform to
indicates where at each sample-point occurred. The dots make it
easy to see how many samples are spanned by each waveform value.
- The main window's position is now saved to the
System Registry rather than in the project files. Loading a
project file no longer affects the main window position.
Bug repairs...
- Improved serial bus management. Adding a
new serial bus automatically creates new channel groups and adds new
WaveForm window lines as expected.
- I2C Timing "data series"
trigger is now limited to an address plus 2 data values. I2C State
mode can still trigger on an address field plus
up to 6 data values.
- Corrected drag-n-drop animation in
the TriggerForms.
-
Improved the demo mode checkbox so that USB hardware is recognized
before exiting the "Edit > Hardware settings..." dialog box.
Version
5.30 - May 20, 2011
Bug repairs...
- Bitstream serial conversion was
improved.
Version
5.29 - April 4, 2011
Bug repairs...
- The MOSI/MISO selection list box
was missing from the WaveForm line setup dialog box when an SPI
bus was selected for display.
-
References to symbol table files located
in the "My GoLogic" folder were not saved correctly in
project files.
Version
5.28 - March 1, 2011
Bug repairs...
- Improved the I2C serial bus conversion
regarding signal errors and
changing clock frequencies.
-
The Serial Bus Display plugin scrolling
was improved.
Version
5.27 - February 16, 2011
New features...
- The SPI+Custom Protocol serial bus conversion
is now more flexible. The command, address, and data fields can be
extracted from either the MISO or MOSI signal.
-
The SPI and UART serial bus conversion
now offer an "Invert data" option which bit-wise inverts the bus
values.
Bug repairs...
- The SPI serial bus conversion
handles
falling edge clock
better (mode 2 and 3). Random
clock signal transitions
between packets are also handled better.
Version
5.26 - January 20, 2011
Bug repairs...
- The program startup was revised so
that demo mode is automatically activated when the WinUSB
extensions are missing. This allows the GoLogic software to be
used on older XP computers
lacking the WinUSB driver package.
Version
5.25 - December 11, 2010
New features...
- The online help system was updated.
Version
5.24 - November 22, 2010
Bug repairs...
- An overactive thread
was wasting CPU time.
-
Incorrect toolbar buttons were displayed when Windows "Visual
Themes" were
disabled.
Version
5.23 - October 8, 2010
Bug repairs...
- The GoLogic
startup "splash" display was eliminated.
-
The toolbar button assignments were
corrupted on some systems after updating from older versions.
The software now detects invalid buttons and automatically uses
the default toolbar if needed. The toolbar can be customized via
the "Options > Customize toolbar..." menu command.
Version
5.22 - September 29, 2010
Bug repairs...
- "Unable to create driver thread"
startup error affected some slower systems.
Version
5.21 - September 23, 2010
New features...
- Appearance improved on Windows 7 platforms.
-
"Delete" button added to serial bus definition areas.
Deleting a serial bus definition
automatically removes channel groups, waveform lines, and plugins
which reference that serial bus.
Version
5.20 - September 10, 2010
New features...
-
v5.20 and above uses to a new WinUSB device driver written
and maintained by Microsoft. This new USB driver improves
behavior when the computer enters and exits
Power Management modes such as "Sleep", "Hibernate", and
"Standby". Our new
USB driver installer program
automatically upgrades or installs the v5.20 device driver as
required. This installer only needs to be run once on any
computer.
Note #1:
The new v3.0 USB driver cannot be used
with the v5.19 or older software. Do not upgrade to v5.20 or later and
the new WinUSB driver if v5.19 or earlier must be used.
Note #2: The new v3.0 USB
driver and v5.20 software cannot be
installed under Windows 2000. Use v5.19 and the v2.1 USB driver with Windows 2000. Older software and USB drivers can be found
here.
Version
5.19 - August 23, 2010
New features...
- Improved the data scroll bars in the WaveForm
and Numeric windows. First, new graphics and colors makes the
scroll bars more visible. Second, the WaveForm window scroll bar
was relocated above the trace data area for convenience. Third,
customizable buttons were added. The new buttons can be configured
to scroll to the markers, perform a search, or scroll to
bookmarks.
- Improved the "zoom peek" feature
in the WaveForm window. The peek window now creates a magnifying
glass centered under the mouse cursor. A local toolbar button in
the WaveForm window toggles the new "zoom peek" feature. The
MouseWheel changes the zoom level inside the peek window. A mouse
left-click closes the peek window and scrolls to the new magnified
view. The escape key exits the peek window without changing the
view.
- Removed the "zoom split" feature
because the new "zoom peek" made it unnecessary.
- Scrolling to sample numbers added
to the "Go To" feature.
- Improved serial bus conversion
speed.
- "RS232 timing" was renamed "UART
timing" in the sample mode drop-down lists to reflect a general
application.
Bug repairs...
- Improved UART serial bus
conversion.
- Searching on the new format serial
bus conversion was corrected.
- Flicker and redundant painting
were eliminated in the WaveForm window.
Version 5.18 -
May 4, 2010
New features...
- The WaveForm window's logic-view
was generalized to support XOR,
AND, OR, NAND, and NOR comparisons.
-
A color option was added to the serial bus definitions so that
each field of a bus packet can be assigned a unique foreground and
background color. The field colors are displayed in the WaveForm
window and the new Serial Bus Display plugin.
-
The individual I2C, SPI, RS232, CAN,
LIN and Generic Bitstream plugins were replaced with a single
plugin which supports all serial bus the GoLogic supports. The new
Serial Bus Display plugin offers more data formatting options,
supports unique colors for each protocol field, and offers a
expand/collapse feature for bus packets.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected an error in the WaveForm
window's Zoom-Peek feature.
- Corrected
project compression under Windows 7.
Version 5.17 -
January 11, 2010
New features...
- Added "SPI+Protocol" serial bus
conversion. A generic command, address, and data protocol is
expected on either the MISO or MOSI signal. Each field is optional
and can vary in size. Text symbol table files are used to define the
protocol command and address values.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected an error which
affected Transitional Timing when the "stop" button was used to
download the trace data.
-
Corrected an error in
the CAN bus conversion which affected the IDE packet-type bit.
Version 5.16 -
July 16, 2009
New features...
- Added a "zoom peek"
feature to
the WaveForm window. Hover the mouse over a waveform and a closeup
view pops up to expose the details. Enable this feature via the
local WaveForm window options.
-
Added a "zoom split" feature to the WaveForm window. When this
mouse mode is active, a horizontal window below the waveforms
shows a closeup view of the data under the mouse. Enable this
feature via the local mouse-mode toolbar button in the WaveForm window.
Bug repairs...
- Corrected an error which
affected "RS232 Timing" mode.
- Corrected an error which
affected the CC channel transition detectors on 72-channel models.
