The “GoLogic2Server.exe” program allows GoLogic
logic analyzers to be accessed over a network using TCP/IP protocol. Since
the Internet uses TCP/IP protocol, the GoLogic can also be accessed over the
Internet. Up to 100 clients can be
connected to the server simultaneously. However, only one client can control
the GoLogic at a time. Once a client starts the GoLogic, all other clients
are locked out until the data is downloaded or the acquisition is canceled.
The inactive clients are notified when the GoLogic is again available for
use.
The GoLogic server starts in the same operating mode as when the program
closed. By enabling server mode and adding a shortcut to the ”Startup”
folder, the program will automatically start when the PC starts and enter
server mode. |

Server mode |
|
When the GoLogic server application is
installed, server mode is disabled. The program ignores all network activity
until server mode is enabled. Once
enable, the GoLogic server waits for clients to access the GoLogic device.
Each client’s computer name (if available), IP address, and status are
listed in the program window. |

|
|
Network setup |
| The program listens for
network activity on one port specified by the "Setup / Network setup..."
menu command. The port number must match the port used by all clients.
The default port number is 2112. Unless
another application also uses this port, there is no reason to change
this values. |
 |
|
|
 |
If the server's listening
port is changed, each client must be configured to use the new port
number. The "Edit > Hardware setup..." menu command is used in the
normal GoLogic software. Select the "Remote GoLogic" option and enter
the server's new listening port.
