Toolbar areas
The GoLogic software provides two toolbars below the program menu: the main toolbar and the quick-setup toolbar...

The main toolbar contains buttons for frequently used menu commands. You can edit this toolbar to suit your needs.

The quick-setup toolbar contains frequently changed GoLogic setup values. These setup values (from left to right) are the sampling mode, sampling frequency (if needed), memory depth, the TriggerForm, and the pre-store amount. If the sampling mode allows the pre-fill period to be disabled, the "No pre-fill" checkbox is also displayed on the quick-setup toolbar.

Customize the toolbar
The main toolbar can be customized. All menu commands are available as toolbar buttons. Use the "Options > Customize Toolbar..." menu command to edit the main toolbar...

The Start/Stop buttons cannot be removed from the main toolbar. The quick-setup toolbar is fixed cannot be customized.

System options
The "Options > System options..." menu command edits the primary program behavior values...

  • Startup action - The software can load the last project, prompt for a project name to open, or start with a blank setup.

  • Use the same TriggerForms for Timing and State analysis where possible - Checking this option copies the active sampling mode's TriggerForm to the inactive sampling mode's TriggerForm.  Trigger resources which cannot exist in each sampling mode are not copied. Uncheck this option to keep the timing and state TriggerForms separate.
  • Personal folder name - The GoLogic software installer creates the "My Documents\My GoLogic" folder. This options allows you to use a different folder name. However, it will always be located in the "My Documents" folder.
  • Always download when "Stop" button is used - Checking this option causes the software to download the data without prompting. Otherwise, the software asks if the data should be downloaded if this option is unchecked.
  • Auto-save - After a new trace is captured, the software can automatically save a project file, export the Numeric window to a text file, or export the Numeric window to a CSV file. The software does not prompt for a filename after each trace capture. Instead, the filename is defined using the associated options below...

  • Filename (auto-save) - Defines the root filename for the auto-save feature. A full path to should be given, but with no file extension. The file extension is added automatically based on the auto-save file type.
  • Append a number... (auto-save) - When checked, a number is automatically appended to the root filename given above. Each time a new trace is captured, the number is incremented so that previous files are not overwritten. Uncheck this option to use the same filename and overwrite each time a trace is captured.
  • Try to use help files installed on this computer... - When this option is checked, the software will first try to use the help files installed locally rather than accessing the Internet. If the local files are missing, the software tries to use the help files on NCI's web site. This option is only available is the local help files are installed. The help install is provided on the GoLogic CD, plus on the downloads page on NCI's web site. However, we recommend using the remote help files if possible because these files are guaranteed to be up to date.
Repeat capture options
The "Options > Repeat capture options..." menu command configures the GoLogic's repeat capture features...

Repeat capture

  • Repeat mode - The GoLogic supports four repeat capture modes...
    • Stop after each capture - This is the normal mode of operation.
    • Repeat until the "Stop" button is pressed - The GoLogic software automatically restarts after each trace capture until the button is clicked.
    • Repeat until the following count is reached - The GoLogic software automatically restarts until the specified number of trace captures are taken.
    • Repeat until the trace differs from the reference data - The GoLogic software automatically restarts until a comparison of all trace and reference samples reveals a difference. The comparison begins at each data's trigger sample and goes to the end.
  • Time delay between captures - The GoLogic can either restart quickly as possible or delay each restart by a specified time.

Repeat capture mode is very powerful when combined with the "Auto-save" feature found under the "Options > System options..." menu command.

Color options
The "Options > Color options..." menu command edits the system color values...
  • Reset palette to 9 standard colors - Nine "basic" channel group colors are provided to display the channel groups in the the Numeric and WaveForm windows. As more custom colors are used, the color list grows longer. Click this button to delete all custom colors and reset the color lists to the basic colors: black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, and white.

  • Background Color - This color is painted behind the data in the Numeric, WaveForm, and PlugIn windows.

  • Use alternating background colors - Check this option to paint the even lines in the data windows using the background color (above) and the odd lines using the second backgound color (below).
  • Background Color #2 - When the "Use alternating background colors" option is enabled, this color is painted behind the odd lines in data the Numeric, WaveForm, and PlugIn windows.
The 9 "basic" colors automatically adjust to the pale or dark background colors. The software uses pale versions of these colors when a dark background is used. Likewise, the software uses dark versions when a pale background is used. This feature is very convenient if you open projects file from someone using a different background color.

However, custom colors do NOT adjust to pale or dark background colors. Opening a project file with custom colors may require the channel group colors to be adjusted. Alternatively, you can change your background color to something more compatible with the custom group colors.
